What happens if...

RSS Feeds

Well! You will notice that I have managed to add an RSS feed from my Nature Network blog. I also had the bright idea that I might also be able to create a feed showing the latest Network Protocols. We don't have this on our Nature Protocols site and it occured to me that I could probably do it using deli.ci.ous. I have uploaded the four oldest ones and they are now visible on the blog.

There is something slightly odd about this. It is only feeding correctly when I do the feed from the "tag" level.
That is: http://del.icio.us/rss/ProtocolsNetwork did not work, but http://del.icio.us/rss/ProtocolsNetwork/nature did. Even though all of the items in ProtocolsNetwork are tagged with "nature" (it is not a shorter list!).
Another really annoying thing is that del.icio.us did not want to let me get the RSS feed link when I was using Internet Explorer. Had to use firefow.
Hopefully both of these are just blips in the system today...

Blogging history

This first post is to let you know up front that this is not my first blog! And that, at least for a little while, this page is going to be a bit "experimental".

I had another blog on blogger.com, but I have forgotten both the password for the blogspot account AND the password to the associated email address. This means that, while these posts still feature highly in a google search for my name, I cannot alter them!

I have a blog on the network.nature.com site which I will still be using. My first experiment will be to see how I can make it easy for you to see my activity on the Nature Network from this blog. If you have advice, please comment; if you don't -- well just wish me luck!
